Laboratory equipment
The most important element of the laboratory is the fatigue test station for testing the tramway bogie frame in terms of the identification and distribution of stresses, with a hydraulic system and the Siemens LOGO 12/24 RCE controller, and the Siemens LOGO Soft Comfort software. Additional equipment of the stand includes a system of HMB strain gauges with a data recording and acquisition system supported by dedicated software.
The laboratory is also equipped with a test station for the pneumatic installation of the train brake system. The main equipment of the station includes Knorr-Bremse and Oerlikon control valves with a system of DACs for pressure measurement.
Another station in the Rail Vehicle Unit and Component Test Laboratory is intended for testing disc brake friction pairs with a system of type MT torque meters with a measurement range of 250÷500 Nm, a unit for multiple-point temperature measurement with type K thermocouples, a hydraulic system with a type P controller for brake fluid pressure, as well as RPM measurement system with Hall sensors.
The laboratory also has instruments for measuring railway vehicle wheel profiles, rail profiles, and track geometry.
Moreover, the laboratory is equipped with a training station for measuring railway vehicle wheelset wheel parameters and a brake disc wear measurement station.
